Our Animating Shakespeare workshops for schools and colleges in partnership with QUAD - an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation with digital specialism - have got off to a flying start.

We're working in partnership with QUAD to get young people and students excited about Shakespeare by combining energetic drama with fun animation.

Animating Shakespeare consists of two related half-day workshops run by 1623 (drama) and QUAD (animation).

Participants workshop scenes from the Shakespeare play that they are studying with a 1623 actor, before they draw storyboards to provide the basis for an animation workshop with a QUAD artist.

We've already run both workshops with Years 10 and 11 at Swanwick SEN School in Derbyshire and Year 9 at Abbotsholme School in Staffordshire.
